A Message from Our Board Chair
Community Care of Idaho was born from the idea that independent primary care physicians and practitioners share a special relationship with their patients, provide real value to their communities, and, when joined together with like-minded clinics, can thrive. The challenges of payer contracting, population management, and data analysis can be overcome by sharing strategies and the costs associated with professional assistance. Negotiating power is also strengthened when speaking as a collective of groups from around the state, something small, isolated practices simply can’t match.
The vision is clear. Focus on primary care practices that provide the personal medical home and foundation for an effective and efficient healthcare environment. Maintain independence, even as a member of a larger clinically integrated group. Gather engaged, like-minded physicians and practitioners who are similarly motivated and lead the process. Be willing to experiment with novel solutions. Shared funds flow directly back to the practices. Risk is mitigated by hiring experts in value-based contracting and payer negotiations.
The result is a uniquely Idaho gathering of small practices from all corners of the state, including rural and frontier areas, that share a desire to remain independent and thrive, even in a world of large hospital systems and venture capitalists.
Independent, and stronger together.
If you’re an independent primary care practice that wants to stay independent and thrive, we’d love to talk.
